A Celebration of Black History Month!

ARThink DeKalb will celebrate Black History Month on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 6:00 p.m. at Miller Grove High School located at 2645 DeKalb Medical Parkway, Lithonia, Georgia 30058.

This year’s celebration is free to the public and will highlight the influence that Black Greek organizations have had on the Black community.  It is only fitting that the program highlights the acclaimed documentary by Mr. James Davis, “The Foundation,” a true documentary of the history of Black Greek organizations.

The event will kick off with STEP performances from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Gama Rho Sorority, Inc., and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Three scholarships, first, second and third place will be awarded to deserving students to be used towards educational expenses.

The screening will be presented by Mr. Davis, the film’s writer, director and producer, and followed by an interactive session with the audience. The event will conclude with a private reception with Mr. Davis.
